Biography

Following my Bachelors of Science with a specialization in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, I entered graduate studies under the supervision of Dr. Ollie Jay and Dr. Pascal Imbeault. As the first physiology student to enter the Fast-Track Ph.D. program within the School of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, my doctoral work focused on human biophysical & physiological heat loss mechanisms. Specifically, my thesis investigated the influence of individual factors such as training, fitness, and circadian rhythm on heat loss responses during exercise in various heat stressed environments. I undertook my Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Centre ÉPIC (Montreal Heart Institute), the largest cardiovascular prevention center in Canada, working under the direction of Dr. Daniel Gagnon. My PDF involved investigating novel treatment strategies for improving vascular function in post-menopausal women, and the effects of heat stress on endothelial function in healthy individuals or persons with comorbidities. As of August 2020, I joined Lakehead University as an Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology.
